Plant observations along Big Bend Backcountry: We went Outer Mountain Loop sections from the Chisos side starting at 5:10 AM. Wind on ridges was steady but never pushed us off pace. No major blowdown, just loose gravel in steep sections. Wildlife/nature notes: Tracks were everywhere, but no close wildlife encounters. Do your homework first.
