Big Bend Backcountry FKT attempt? Not quite, but moved well. We went Outer Mountain Loop sections from the Chisos side starting at 6:25 AM. Wind on ridges was steady but never pushed us off pace. No major blowdown, just loose gravel in steep sections. TLDR: Backup headlamp batteries. Take what is useful.
