Late start, late finish. Big Bend Backcountry in the evening light. We went Chisos Basin entry with East Rim side mileage starting at 6:00 AM. Cool morning temps made long exposed miles feel manageable. Tread was dry and clear with a few loose rock corners. Midday light was harsh but the shadows added drama. Quick scores: overall=5, difficulty=3, views=5 Short version: First aid kit is mandatory. You got this.
