I have wanted to do Big Bend Backcountry for years.
We took Dodson and Blue Creek combo with a one-night camp with group of 4. Started around 6:50 AM when dry air and steady sun meant layers changed fast after sunrise. The trail route stayed obvious, with minor wash marks in low spots. We treated every known source as uncertain and carried extra.
Overall 4/5. Difficulty 4/5. Scenery 4/5.
The kind of day that resets perspective.
