Last updated: 2026-07-04 --- The type of incident is Wildfire and involves the following unit(s) Canyon Country District. --- State: Utah --- Coordinates: Latitude: 39° 0 28 Longitude: 109° 3 31 --- NOTE: All fire perimeters and points are approximations. --- Incident Overview: The Snyder Fire started on Saturday, June 26th during a Red Flag Warning with gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuel. Engines, crews and aircraft were used during initial suppression efforts.  Due to extreme fire behavior, crews were moved back to staging areas for their safety on Saturday night.  Crews returned to suppression efforts when conditions improved. The public is asked to avoid the area due to extreme fire behavior and to not hamper firefighting efforts. The Rocky Mountain Complex Incident Management Team 1 assumed command of the incident on Monday morning, June 29. An interactive map of the Snyder Fire is available on the National Interagency Fire Center GIS database. This map contains the fire perimeter for the Snyder Fire. You can enter a specific location and measure from that location to the edge of the fire.  Pre-evacuations As of July 1, 2026, at 7 p.m. all pre-evacuation and evacuation notices issued in response to the Snyder Fire near Glade Park, Colorado have been lifted by the Mesa County Sheriff.
