Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 12, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how PermitSnag (4Whys LLC) uses cookies and similar technologies on permitsnag.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies such as local storage work the same way. We group them by purpose below.

Categories We Use

Strictly Necessary (always on)

Required for the site to work. These keep you signed in, protect against fraud, and remember your cookie choice. They cannot be switched off.

Analytics (consent required in the EEA and UK)

Help us understand how the site is used and power our product experiments. We use PostHog for this. In the EEA and UK, these are set only after you consent.

One of these, ps_anon_id, holds a randomly generated ID with no personal information in it. If you are in one of our A/B tests, it lets our server and your browser put you in the same group, so the page does not change on you as you click around. The same ID is already stored in your browser today. The cookie only makes it readable by our own server. A second short-lived cookie, ps_ph_bootstrap, carries which group that ID falls into and expires after an hour. We list both under analytics rather than strictly necessary because the site works fine without them, and we do not set either unless analytics are allowed, which in the EEA and UK means after you consent.

Marketing (consent required)

Used to measure and personalize advertising. We do not run any marketing or advertising cookies today. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

Managing Your Choices

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though strictly necessary cookies are needed for the site to work. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place while consent was active.
