Last updated: 2026-10-09 --- The type of incident is Wildfire and involves the following unit(s) Angeles National Forest. --- State: California --- Coordinates: Latitude: 34° 45 17 Longitude: 118° 47 44.2 --- NOTE: All fire perimeters and points are approximations. --- Incident Overview: The Danny Fire was reported at 4:12 pm October 8, 2026. Forward progression was stopped around 7:15 pm.The fire remains in unified command between the Angeles National Forest and Los Angeles County Fire Department.The Danny Fire has a diverse group of firefighters on scene today. It is a good example of the interdepartmental and interagency teamwork that can occur during a wildfire. Besides Angeles National Forest and Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters, there are engine crews and equipment from Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and Idaho working the fire today. We also have help from National Forests in Northern California (we see you Redding IHC, Lassen National Forest and Shasta-Trinity NF) and our SoCal neighbors - the Los Padres, San Bernardino and Cleveland lending a hand with Interagency Hotshot Crews and a water tender.All lanes of I-5 are now open. Please use caution when driving through the area and watch for fire crews and/or equipment working in the area.Evacuations: There are currently an Evacuation Order and Evacuation Warnings for areas near the fire.Evacuation Order: Orders are issued when there is an immediate threat to life. This is a lawful order to leave now. The area is lawfully closed to public access.GOR-E004-D Evacuation Warning: Warnings are issued when a there is potential threat to life and/or property. Those who require additional time to evacuate, including individuals with access or functional needs, and those with pets and livestock, should leave now.
