What to bring on Butte West
Specific to this permit, not a generic camping list.
- Bring
All your water. These are primitive campgrounds with no supply of any kind
- Bring
A high-clearance vehicle, which the park recommends for these roads
- Bring
A stove, and firewood if you plan to use a ring. Do not collect wood
- Bring
Shade you bring yourself
the park describes this as an extreme desert landscape with little or no shade
- Bring
A red-mode headlamp
because this is a certified International Dark Sky Park
8 people can go on one permit. Split this list between them so nobody carries two stoves.
