Havasupai opens for Oct 2, Snow Canyon just freed up 40 days straight
What dropped this week
Havasupai Falls dropped a spot for October 2 twice this week, so that date is worth watching if you've been trying to get in. St. Helens had two separate openings, one for August 31 and one for September 4, so climbing slots are moving. Middle Fork Salmon opened up for September 4, and Rae Lakes Loop saw three separate date openings: September 3, September 15, and September 21. The biggest move was Snow Canyon's Hike-In permit, which opened availability across 40 straight days, August 27 through October 5. That's a big window if you've been waiting on that one. Conundrum Hot Springs opened for August 28, and Mt. Langley freed up for August 24.

Right now you can find open availability on Mt. Langley in Sequoia & Kings Canyon, St. Helens climbing permits, Grand Gulch in Cedar Mesa, and Lost Coast Trail in the King Range. Whitney Mountaineer's Route, Cottonwood Pass PCT, and Mt Whitney Trail Crest Exit are all showing openings in Inyo National Forest too. Havasupai Falls also has current availability. If any of these are on your list, worth checking sooner than later since these can shift fast.
Lotteries opening/closing soon
The Wave lottery closes August 31, less than a week out from today. If you haven't gotten an entry in for that one, this is the window to do it before it shuts.
