Dead Horse Point yurts just dropped a month of openings, plus Subway and Dinosaur river dates

What dropped this week

Dead Horse Point had the biggest move this week. Wingate Yurts and Wingate Hike-In both opened up almost the entire Nov 10 through Dec 7 stretch, and Moenkopi Yurts opened a scattered run of dates across that same window, starting as early as Oct 29. If you've been waiting on a Dead Horse Point site, this is the week to check. The Subway opened two single dates, Oct 29 and Oct 30. On the river side, both Yampa and Gates of Lodore in Dinosaur National Monument opened availability for Oct 30. Deer Canyon at Crystal Cove picked up one opening too, for Nov 16.

Open right now

Permits currently showing availability: Core Zone in the Enchantments, Trans-Zion Traverse, Rim-to-Rim at Grand Canyon, The Subway, Steep Ravine Camp at Mt. Tamalpais, Hawaiʻi Volcanoes backcountry, Mt. Whitney Day, and Lost Coast Trail. Worth a direct look if any of these are on your list, since open-now status can shift fast on the popular ones.

Lotteries opening/closing soon

The Wave lottery closes Oct 31 and the next application window opens Nov 1. If you want a shot at Vermilion Cliffs, get your entry in before the close date and watch for the new window right after.
