Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a Full Season permit?

Full Season permits require advance reservations. Book online as soon as reservations open for your desired dates.

When is the best time to visit Full Season?

Mid-July through early September is the reliable window: passes clear, wildflowers up, and the permit season still open. Late September is beautiful and quiet but falls outside the permit season, which ends September 15.

What gear do I need for the Full Season route?

Essential gear includes: Stove, because campfires are illegal across the whole east side, Water filter or treatment, since giardia is common in these drainages, Rain shell and warm layers for daily afternoon storms, Map and compass, since cell coverage dies past the trailheads.
