State Park Reservations: Which Site Books Your State

There is no one site for state park reservations. Each state picks its own booking system, and some states share a platform. National parks and national forests are different again: they book on Recreation.gov. Find your state below, book on its site, and if the campground you want is full, start an alert and we will tell you when a night opens.

46 states have a state park booking system we check, 23 state park booking systems in all. The campground counts below are read live from our own listings. Each state links to its list of campgrounds, and each campground page starts its own alert.

Campground full? Start an alert

A full campground is not always gone for good, because people cancel. An alert checks the booking site for you and tells you when a night in your dates opens. You book the site yourself.

  1. Pick the campground. Use the button below, or open your state in the table.
  2. Choose your dates and the kind of site you want.
  3. Start the alert. We tell you when a night in your dates opens.

Alerts work on the campgrounds we check, which are the ones listed for each state below.

National parks and forests

Campgrounds run by the Park Service, the Forest Service and other federal agencies book on Recreation.gov, not on a state site. We check those too. How to book on Recreation.gov.

Questions about state park reservations

How do I make a state park reservation?

Book on the booking site your state's park agency uses. There is no single site for state parks: each state picks a system, and some states share one. Find your state in the table on this page, open its system's guide, and book there. Federal campgrounds, such as national parks and national forests, book on Recreation.gov instead.

Why is the state park campground I want full?

Popular campgrounds can fill soon after their booking window opens. A full campground is not always gone for good, because people cancel. When a night frees up, the booking site shows it as open again.

Can I get an alert when a state park campsite opens up?

Yes, for the campgrounds we check. Open the campground's page, pick your dates, and start an alert. We check its booking site and tell you when a night in your dates opens. You still book the site yourself on the state's booking site.

Which states does PermitSnag check for state park openings?

46 states have a state park booking system we check, 23 state park booking systems in all. The table on this page lists each state with its system. A state missing from it has no state park system we check yet.
